Eating Well is Jiu-Jitsu: 3 healthy recipes with berries

Last week we talked about the powerful red fruits and berries, and promised that this week we would bring delicious, healthy and practical recipes with them, so you can get the most out of these “magic” foods.

Paper and pen in hand, let’s get started.

Berry Smoothie: Of course this had to be the first one on the list. Very practical and ideal for our routine.

Ingredients:

• 2 blackberry frozen juice bars
• 180 grams of berry light yogurt
• 1 tablespoon of wheat germ
• 1 cup of fresh orange juice

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until mixed, without letting the pulp completely dissolve, maintaining a creamy consistency. Serve chilled.

Detox Berry Juice: This also had to be on our list… after all it is always good to know new recipes.

Ingredients:

• 2 cups of frozen berries (cherries, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries)
• 200 ml of pomegranate or cranberry juice
• 200 ml of ice water

Preparation:

Blend all ingredients in a blender and serve.

Banana Ice Cream with Berries: There’s nothing better than an ice cream for a weekend’s dessert, right? And if we can enjoy a healthier version, it’s even better!

Ingredients:

• 1 Banana, sliced and frozen
• 1/2 cup of frozen raspberries, blackberries and blueberries
• 1/2 cup of almond milk or skim milk
• 1 tablespoon of almonds.

Preparation:

Blend all ingredients in a blender and serve.

  • "Excellent atmosphere. Professors and students alike help each other to learn. Extensive classes to accommodate any schedule. Owner Rodrigo Carvalho Silva is down to earth, and his facility offers a massive deal for the money. You won't find a more well rounded positive experience anywhere. Gracie Barra has the rep, the quality, and the networking for personal development, self protection, and competition opportunities."

  • "Wonderful team dynamic. In looking for a place to train BJJ, I wanted to find a place which not only develops individual skills in the sport, but also emphasizes the importance of the team. Gracie Barra is without question the only BJJ-specific training gym in Vancouver which delivers this."

  • "The best and friendliest environment to learn self-defence and to get in shape. I love this place!"

  • "GB Vancouver is deserved five stars! The best martial arts studio in Vancouver!
